I even would like it if it was tuesday :)
looking onto these 4 images you posted now, I am quite fascinated how fine you show the skin tonality and get clear drawing of matte and glitter gold in the same picture...this is "light championship" in my eyes
thanks for showing

Thank you for your your comment. Skin tonality is extremely important in shooting close ups as either we spend lot of time retouching or spend time lighting.
As you know, it is team work and we cannot but give credit to both the models and the MUA's plus the DoP's (when applicable).
Irrespective of the prep style and mood for the model. there are few rules which have to be respected when applying make up and when shooting. The photographer/Director should give very clear instructions as to how the prep should be done.
Most skin types do not have a uniform color tonality and texture and this is addressed with the lighting and most of the time with the retouching.
The lighting comes next and we are talking big soft lights with mini directional LED single lights aimed at a particular spot, in this case the eye lids.
Finally, the retouching is always from flat even if the lighting was not flat lighting. FS is the most used with D&B.
Yes. it is quite elaborate but worth every bit of it.

Is it my turn on Wednesday :)
Thank you for the details Almass, I am certain that flower shooters like I will watch out for those skin tones :)

Any day of the week (with that ear piece).

Thanks for the explanation, Almass. Lovely flowers indeed ;) (and skin).

I don't suppose you plan to share the picture that uses the above mentioned lighting?

If you mean a BTS picture? Then the answer is negative ;D

I meant the version that uses the big soft lights.
