Title: Grass track race - the racers

Last weekend I went to a grass track motorcycle race event in Grafing (a small town east of Munich).

This year is the last year this race is being held at that location as a bypass will be constructed through the meadow.

Before the race the racers from age six to over 70 did a few rounds:

The owner of the brewery gets driven around the track.

The motorcycles do not have a starter, they need to be pushed to start the methanol engine.

Andreas, I missed you!

  Thanks for this. I like all the racers images, the story and the festivity more than competition ambiance. More interesting and funny last one.

Of course when in rural Bavaria... Lots of people show up in traditional Sunday best.

I was wondering it the bike in the last image was the 70 year old :)
