"The Day of the Triffids" come to mind.

A reminder that I should search for and retrieve my copy of the novel. Been a long time since last time I read it.

NRK (Norwegian equivalent to BBC) ran a very successful radio play based on John Wyndham's novel many years ago. Probably was the first encounter of dystopic science fiction to many listeners in the audience.

Yes, exactly what I had in mind. And the BBC also serialised the book for radio, very effectively; I was a teenager at the time. :-\

Love the green and the way the twigs run in the frame.

YouTube is a friend (I mean, "The Day of the Triffids"):

Nice find, lousy film quality. I stick to the book, which I now have retrieved.
