Taken a few weeks ago at Nathan Philip's Square in front of our City Hall here in Toronto.
I was walking around looking for interesting subjects when I noticed a group being prepared to be guides of some sort for an event in the square. In among the group I noticed a beautiful Asian woman wearing a sunhat, who I immediately wanted to photograph. Luckily the group was standing in an area of open shade, in front of a dark background, so using my longest lens wide open to isolate her, I grabbed this shot.

Fons /Elsa /Thomas,
Thanks for the kind words.
By way of an explanation, the bit of magenta tinge at bottom right is the remnants of another person's shirt. He was standing between me and the subject, who was in the middle of a crowd, so I isolated her as best I could by shooting wide open at 200mm. I then had to decide between posting the shot un-cropped with out-of-focus people in front and behind her, or cropping severely to get rid of the distracting elements.
I chose the latter option, which makes the composition simpler and cleaner and focuses only her beautiful features.
