Hi
I recently visited this reserve after it being highly recommended. I arrived at a time when it was celebrating 40 years of establishment. It has done a wonderful thing and is a real asset to
Norfolk. I was hoping for a Kingfisher to stop of on a perch near the canal waterway, but along came a jack pike to absorb a little of the suns energy.

Hi Elsa
Highland Cattle are used in many UK nature reserves as part of a natural land management initiative. This breed does very well on flood plains and help with creating bio diversity of the
flora, this broader species of flora, then supports a wider amount of animal species. Not a chemical is put on the ground.
Strumpshaw Fen has over a hundred years of being recognised as a natural meadow, contain plants that are almost extinct in a wild habitat. At this time of year it is Macro Heaven.

Hi, John, thanks for sharing these interesting images. The first one looks the most enigmatic and intriguing, while others look beautiful. What am I seeing in the first image?

Hi Akira
Thank you for your comments, the first image is a predatory fish known as the Pike, in the UK a juvenile like this one is referred to as a Jack Pike. This got my heart beating as I knew it
is a image that rarely happens for a photographer in the wild. Luckily it was enjoying the sun as much as I was and stayed with me for a while.

Ah, now I realize what I'm seeing. The face of the pike! Thanks for clarification!
