I love Montenegro!
I try to visit at least once every year. Some years ago I took the Crew with me and they loved it. Who knows, perhaps we could go again some time in the future.
Last weekend I visited my friend Tanja and we stayed at her fisherman's cottage on the River Bojana, some 500 meters away from the Adriatic Sea. I spent most of my time on her lovely balcony reading books and occasionally snapping a photo or two of the surroundings. Moving and exploring wasn't something I wanted. WI-Fi wasn't available, hence the belated post of photos. I only had a Df with me and some lenses.
1. The balcony (16/3.5 fish-eye)
2. Inverted birds, shot from the balcony (300/4.5 AiS)
3. Electricity exists, shot from the balcony (300/4.5 AiS)
4. Flowers, on the balcony (135/2 DC)
5. Across the road/river, from the balcony (300/4.5 AiS)

These bring back the atmosphere so nicely, Jakov. I feel I want to return to this country.
-
I like the tranquility and the mood you created with the images. It is a bonus that there is no wifi - I am sure it keeps you in the moment
-
Thank you Bjørn and Elsa!
I did try for the first time to use the 135DC with an extension ring (the entire K-ring set).
-
Going from bokeh to über-bokeh ... surely, an interesting alternative to the ubiquitous Heligons.
-
I see you have a new favorite lens; 135DC :)
The flowers are looking beautiful but I like the (color) reflections with the 300mm the best.
-
Inspiring pictures Jacov :) Makes me wanna go out and take pictures.
-
K + DC looks better than drugs
I think, the colour in your images is more Asian style oriented than the Balkan way I know, but they´re looking good
time to get a new vision - direct flights are payable - my todays knowledge ends in Croatia
-
Beautiful series Jakov. As always colorful and inspiring. How you always manage to shoot something interesting no matter where you go!! My fav is the "Electricity exists" shot.
-
The bokeh of the 135DC is wonderful as we all know, but über special with an extension ring as Bjørn says.
Chris, yes, slowly but surely the 135DC is becoming my favorite. It will be difficult to topple the 85/1.4 AF-D though ;) The 300/4.5 AiS is so nice that I wonder whether I need the 300PF at all?
Børge, if I managed ti inspire such an amazing photographer as yourself, then I am really happy!!! Thanks!
Thomas, nothing is better than drugs :) I will be in Croatia in less than a month ;)
Thank you Anirban. I limited my photography to the balcony to prove Bjørn's wise words that you should be able to create photos not far from your door step in a contained area :)
Having said that, I did go to the Southern Soul Festival held at a near by beach. This where my interest was. 300/4.5 AiS to the rescue again :)
-
Really great Stuff, Jakov. Beautiful ;)
-
To me, the beautiful colors of Montenegro are the most impressive element of these images, especially the emerald green of the water.
-
Thank you John and Akira! Yes, the emerald green waters are very attractive.
Here are some more made with the versatile 135DC. Closeups or long exposures, doesn't really matter :)
-
There I was sat on the balcony.
Loads of birds were flying around.
The I remembered Kjetil's image of birds in the unsharp thread. It really left an impression on me when I saw it!
So I tried to emulate something similar :)
Thank you Kjetil for inspiring me!
-
And the final batch of photos from my long weekend in Montenegro.
Birds on a wire :)
There is a huge possibility that I will visit Montenegro again in a couple of weeks with my family and engage in some rafting on the the River Tara.
-
Oh nice memories from that trip ;)
Super images Jacov !
-
Jakov,
That is a fabulous series! I love your interpretations!
-
I'm a latecomer to this particular party but I am very glad I found it. Thanks, Jakov, for a superb series.
-
Yup, a thread absolutely worth spending time with. Your flower shots are exquisite Jakov!
-
Erik, Peter, David, and Sten, thank you so much for your kind words. We should all gather in Montenegro in the future ;)
I am currently in Cres, Croatia as last year but haven't been clicking enough for show, yet :)
