Rick,
Very dramatic image.
The cobble stones add a interesting texture to the shot, and the deserted streets & long shadows give the street the delicious "feel" of early morning.
As I explained to our kids when they were very young and I'd wake them before sunrise to explore the city, in the early morning when there is no one else around, it's as if the entire world belongs only to you.
Great shot.

nicely done - and for me also the light on the cobblestones creates a very nice mood.

Thanks, Robert and Elsa, for the comments.
Certain areas in downtown Fort Worth still have the original cobblestone roads that were laid down over a century ago. It is a way to try and preserve a bit of the past. 8)

Rick, we have some here also - but their tops (surface) are sometimes quite "round" and very uneven to walk on. Definitely NO High heel shoes

Yes Melbourne still has a number of similar such cobble stone lanes and footpaths - mainly blue stone / granite plus some in Australian Hardwood blocks. Many are around the tram tracks as well.
Definitely hard walking I would think for the ladies feet & ankles, especially those who embrace the current rage of wearing very high heeled stilletto shoes.
