We went to a modern art exhibition today in Vence near Nice, south of France.
One piece was clearly built on the famous song "Purple Rain". The room was painted in purple.
"Pluie Pourrie" means rotten rain, very timely unfortunately.
The piece was created in 2003 by Claude Leveque.

Yes, another musical genius has left us.
Truly sorry!
-
Olivier, thanks for sharing. What made you visit there could have been the sign "o" the time...

Celebrities are checking out at an alarming rate. Thank you for the artful bit of journalism.

I happen to land few days back here in Minneapolis - Prince's home ground. Thousands of fans gathered in "First Avenue" (a music venue/nightclub) that night and also in Prince's Paisley Park Studios. "First Avenue", the club appeared in many scenes of the film Purple Rain. Everything that could be purple, was purple that night. RIP Prince.

Anirban. Thank you. Do doves really cry? --- My favorite of his, although "Christopher Tracey's Parade" is also not bad...
-
Thanks Frank and Akira. Akira - thanks for the link. Interesting.
Many high-rise building were lit purple here including a bridge on a major highway.
What more - Uber cars are purple in Uber app.

Anirban, thank you for the live updates :)
My favorite is Gett Off, but there are many other songs that could be mentioned as my favorite ones.
Frank, if Prince said that Doves Cry, then they do :)
Rare are multidisciplinary artists like Prince. Another one of those who did things that we always wanted to do but didn't have the nerve...
A purely unique guy!

Thank you Jakov.

Not everyone seemed sad that Prince has passed away. Or may be why be sad, it is celebration of Prince's life.
P.S: Pardon the IQ of these smartphone photos. No DSLR in hand for few days.

Anirban, there is nothing wrong with your smart phone images ;)
Thank you for sharing them with us :)

Anirban,
Someone says that the best camera is what you have with you. If it is true, you shot these impressive images with your best camera. :)
-
Anirban. Your pics in #10 are such that I want to immidiately embrace you.
Great pictorial quality. Wow.
-
Thanks Frank for encouraging. :)
Akira and Jakov, you are always very kind.

Anirban, you obiously made very good use of the tool at hand.
The pictures are telling the story of that moment.
Very enjoyable.
Thank you that you shared them even if you had doubts about IQ, which I think was much too precautious.
Notably in these moments the best cam is the one you have - otherwise the moment would pass away undocumented.

In #11 I love the composition of ...0394 very much. Supershot.

Totally agree with you Thomas. Glad you enjoyed them.

Thanks Olivier. I should have asked your permission first, to post in the thread you started. Sorry about that. :-X

No problem, don't worry about that!
