cant help but think a little more light on the blossoms wouldnt have hurt

Elsa - thanks for your suggestion. The light was quite poor, but I reprocessed using the Huelight (high) camera profile in CC2015 (instead of PN), and managed to get a bit more light on the blossoms (and cooled it down a bit). This came at the cost of more obvious halos over the background mountains.

Nice atmospheric shot, Mike!

I personally like the original edit in which the darkish-blueish light of the end of a day is well captured.

Akira - I think that I prefer version 1, but with the reds of the spent lotus cooled a fraction. What do you think?

Well, I think that would depend on the time of the day you took the image.  The slightly cooler tone could be more appropriate for the later hours.  I might even want to darken the exposure a wee bit.
