my old 2.8 28 - 70mm AF S started to refuse focussing
I was strongly thinking of putting is as defect in the bay, but then thought, send it in
to Nikon Service point (in that case Frankfurt) and put a limit to the repair cost.
I was not willing to pay the often reported 500.- Euros for a new AFS motor.
Today the lens came back, perfectly functioning.
They did: repair of AF S, cleaning, adjusting at net cost € 140.-
Many other brands wouldn´t have done the repair of such an old part anyway.

That is very good news and I sincerely believe that the praise should go to NPS Frankfurt. I have my doubts whether the same service would have been provided here in NL..

NPS/Nikon service in my country has been uniformly excellent.

I can put my hands into fire for NPS Cologne. Super Service!
