Flickr has made some changes and the "desktop uploader" is now only available to pro members. A subscription costs $50/year:

I guess I will have to manually upload my photos now, the price isn't worth it in my case.
Will this make you switch and if so, what will you switch to?

Thanks for the heads up ;)

Thanks for the note, Jørgen.
I don't upload too many images at a time. I always click the "cloud" and drag&drop the images to upload. I will just stay there.

For those who are using LR:
Jeffrey Friedls uploader plugin is just great for the upload task (click) (http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/flickr)
and worth trying it.

Thanks Thomas will have a look,,,,

My Flickr Pro account was automagically extended last month for only $24,95 instead of the mentioned $50.
I do vaguely remember that long time Pro users get a loyalty discount by not raising the original prices to the new price, might explain the lower price I've paid.

Old Pro users were grandfathered in at the old price. I don't use the desktop uploader as it does not fit my style of doing things. A pro account at 30% off is worth considering to get stats.
