Title: Shell
Post by: simato73 on March 05, 2016, 22:35:14
I have a few variants of this shot from different angles, but this is the one I prefer.
Originally developed in colour to emphasize the variations between the different grains of sand, it occurred to me after that it could maybe also work as a B&W.
Your opinion?

Simone, I would think the beauty of this shell is in the subtle pinkish color along with its somewhat mermaid-like shape.  So, in this particular case, the color version is a no-brainer to me.

I agree the color version is better.
The background could be bit more creamy :)

I Also prefer the colour version.
Having said that - the BW version is totally different and nice.

Thank you all for your comments.
I also came to the conclusion that I prefer the colour version and have made a print of it.

Unfortunately that was not possible at that time. The only lens I had with me that wold allow that magnification is not great for bokeh in OOF areas.
