Title: Life is a Swinging in and a Swinging Out, but oh the Joys of Forever

The Robinson family's poetic headstone (gate).  Shot with the 105mm f/2.5 Ai at f/5.6 mounted on the D800E

What a wonderful idea for a headstone!
I never saw something like this. Perhaps a stairway (to heaven) could be an idea?

Jakov,

Thank you.  I agree, this really is a different idea for a headstone.  I visit this nearby cemetery often and I had not noticed this marker.  Turns out it is for a couple and the man just died a year ago, and the marker had not been placed until recently.  I also missed the intended meaning.  Before I read the inscription, I thought that the gate referred to the gates of heaven.  But then why would it be closed?   It certainly doesn't look like Rodin's gates of Hell which of course one would prefer to be closed.  Wonderful wrought iron work by the way.

Thanks Fons,

I really like how the 105  and the B&Wworks for this scene.  The cemetery is busy with both color and nearby structures.  It was a balance.  The gate faces east so the morning sun makes the wrought iron work stand out.
