Hi
Water Fall,
name is Kiutaköngäs , Kuusamo , Finland
-
It looks freezing.
I wonder where the yellow colors come from?
-
It's probably suspended organic material since most of the rivers in the boreal forest region have their origin from marshes and swamps. Nice picture :)
-
Jakov: this is the humic substances so typical for the Nordic region. They are organic compounds flushed out of the soils. The colours can range from pale straw yellow to dark yellow or brown, or in some extreme cases, even deep red and purple.
-
Nice scene, the coloration of the water was the first thing I noticed.

Hi
you are right, it is humic , organic material , water color is a kind of brown
-Kiutaköngäs waterfall in Oulanka National Park is one of the largest Finnish free rapids, 14 m drop height is divided into 200m
