Nikkor 105mm f/1.8 @ f/2.8
Luckily the tuna melt my lady and I were splitting was quite satisfying! This image really showcases how much the 105mm f/1.8 excels in high contrast scenes with it's virtual lack of CA.

100% crop with no CA correction, ISO 6400
PS Exif reads 50mm f/2 as it is not chipped and I forgot to switch non-cpu when I switched lenses. Whoops!

IMO ... he is unhappy about the things he reads on his smartphone screen...
-
it is a very informative picture
synthetic light
synthetic drink
synthetic tomatoes in a bottle
synthetic meat
synthetic sweet white "bread"
synthetic information via smartphone
this shows real life
I think you show in a perfect way

Well said! lol

Excellent shot. I wonder how bad the axial color of my Zeiss 100/2 would have been in the same situation....
Irony: The only commercially produced, full flavor, fully-ripe tomatoes in the USA were used to make what's in that bottle.

+1!

Pluton, I'd love to give one a spin, but that lens is well out of what I can put aside for a lens. Though being virtually CA fringing free, the 105mm f/1.8 does have some very modest LoCA
-
Great shot, Tristin. And a good example of the qualities of the 105/1.8. Since I have that lens it's 'stuck' on the Df ;)

you have certainly captured to look of disgust on his face Tristin. Not sure it is about the burger but if it were, one is drawn to think about what the end result of "burger rage" might end up being.
Food for thought ....??
-
He had that look on his face the entire time we were there. I just like to think it was the burger, I find it amusing.

If you are correct, Mongo suspects you will never see him there again...........would still like to see what burger rage looks like (LOL)
-
Perhaps he was just having a bad day, or he's a Mr. Angry! Some people are just like that, either miserable or grumpy.
Whatever the explanation it's a wonderful capture. :D

Did he eat the second burger ? If not, that could be the burger indeed. ;D
By the way, I never tried this lens. Probably because I was always happy with the f/2.5 version.
Thanks for sharing,
Francis.

He obviously is typing on a phone or a tablet.
-
Great shot. Weather he is displeased with his burger or something else is part of what makes the shot.

Main IQ differences between the two are the f/1.8 has virtually no field curvature or CA, where-as the f/2.5 has strong curvature in the corners and noticeable CA, which is worse when close. The f/1.8 only comes with straight blades, which is noticeable at f/2.8 when they are compared.

Thanks for this additional information, Tristin. ;)
