Title: Technologies applied to photographic equipment
Post by: stenrasmussen on January 11, 2016, 08:49:56
Personally I find it interesting to read about new and old technological implementations.
Here's some information on the CFRTP used in the monocoque body parts in the D5500 and D500:

Edit: Forgot to say that I hope others too will contribute with various types of information here.

I have the D5300 and always wondered why the built-in GPS responded so poorly. Now I know thanks to Sten's link....

By the way, a D5300 desperately needs an aGPS information file to make its GPS to function. Otherwise the body shielding will make the GPS for ever search for satellite fixes.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.
To your hope, I'll contribute when I find something.

One place to start for looking into the Nikkor lenses is the very nice sit;

Currently there are 56 Tales regarding the technology applied and the thoughts behind the design for a selected number of Nikkor lenses.

Highly recommended reading!
