12/25/2015, Houston, TX, walking distance from my home.

From this batch: https://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com/2016/01/09/birding-on-brays-bayou/ (https://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com/2016/01/09/birding-on-brays-bayou/)
This concrete lined ditch overflowed last May flooding thousands of homes, including mine.

It looks like an impossibly small heron flying sideways over sidewalk!

Ron - beautiful bird! what was your settings?

f/5.6, 1/1250, 3d continuous AF, auto iso, The A3 lock on delay was set at medium, but my understanding is it would not come into play here.

The bird is flying in a concrete lined ditch about 30 feet below street level.

Somewhat incongruous background but the bird is beautifully rendered.
