gorgeous !!

But any bluebirds inside that box must be quaking in their little birdie boots to have a hawk landing on the roof. "-0

the bluebirds are long done with those nesting boxes that is why i could get close to them.. i never see the hawks on them when the bluebirds are nesting.

i do have shots of the hawk finishing that vole.. he ate four of them before this one.... i wouldn't have bothered posting this if he didn't have the vole in its talons

If I may ask, what software do you use to pp your photos?

Well caught!
The drab background makes the bird stand out even more. I assume the bg is natural that way this time of the year?

cheers

yes.. all deciduous trees in this background... however we do have non-deciduous trees (pines, evergreen, etc.. )... hard to control the BG with a wild hawk..

Nikon Capture-ND to open to get the WB correct, then imported and finished in Photoshop

Well timed and great image.

more like 11 fps and luck that the AF kept lock.. by the way, i turn off the AF delay (focus tracking with lock on) in settings and use the AF button on the back of the cam (AF-On button).
