And plenty of it.
At a rough guess, I think there must be 100 times the normal flow coming down our local river, and the bridge I was standing on to make this shot is in some danger. The weather forecast is for heavy continuous rain for most of the next 5 days. Three of the four roads out of here are currently blocked by flooding or landslides, our local bank was being pumped out as I drove past earlier today, and we ourselves have water coming up through the floor in a couple of places, tho' not yet in serious amounts.
But we are having it really, really easy compared to some parts of northern England.

Appreciate your concern Mike, but likely you had David P. in mind. My house is 100% safe from flooding or sea level rise even were the inland ice of Greenland to melt away :D

Thanks, everyone, for your comments and your concern.
We have had prolonged wet weather here many times before, but there is something different about this. I don't think anyone in the Killin area is in danger of their lives, but it seems certain that things are going to get worse before they get better.
Probably it's a good time to invest in companies manufacturing flood-control equipment. ;D 8) Hey - good idea - think I'll mention it to the boss wife.

Wow ... I'm hoping for the best and I hope you stay dry. Normally, I would request you send some of that rain my way. We're in the middle of a four year drought here, but El Niño is lining up a series of storms with the first hitting in a few days and I fear we in California will be in a similar boat as you Brits.

That's ok, Mike - there's no-one I'd rather be mistaken for!
When we lived in London, a friend of mine was often taken for the guitarist, Eric Clapton (he really was a look-alike), and people used to ask him for an autograph. He always wrote "I am not Eric Clapton" and they would go away happy, thinking not only had they seen and spoken to Eric, but that he had given them some kind of unique "denial" signature. My friend also sometimes got offers of an intimate nature from young ladies, thinking he was the famous musician.

Fons, glad to see someone else who has read Sunbear. But I fear more and more we are seeing weather situations which cannot be coped with.
To the OP, scary image. I hope your deluge subsists soon. Moving water is a powerful force with which to contend.
