and to you Fons  :) . Interesting perspective  :).  My wish is to be somewhere cold and with an absence of tourists  ;) , not going to happen this year.  We have not one, but two, three day International EDM events between now and New Years.... D.J.s are the new super stars according to my son , Bah Humbug says I  ;D

Happy holidays to the everybody!!!

But can somebody please add a snowy happy holiday picture or is winter late around the globe?

It's 12 freaking degrees Celsius out here in the Netherlands and no snow insight for the coming weeks :'(

Only glad to reach out a helping hand, JA :D

But not with pictures from this December as it has been the warmest on record. I see people with shorts in the streets .... My step-daughter called and told me she had enjoyed swimming in the Oslo Fjord yesterday. That's a true Viking spirit to applaud.

Pulling from archives is easier so here you go (actual christmas decorations, captured with 200-400/4 ED and the D200).

Merry Christmas to everyone.
And no snow either in Paris, I even have dendelions blossoming in my garden... I know Bjørn would be all over it with a UV camera...

A few years back, December over here was bitterly cold. That's the difference between 'weather' and 'climate' in a nutshell.

That year's seasonal greeting as follows,

Still spring here in the Rhine Valley. Last day of Christmas Market and I have ignored it so far....

This is marvelous...
I understand the multiple exposure part, but the forground escapes me!

Same here.  This year we had snow fall on January 1st here in Tokyo, but I don't even know if we would have any snow at all.

Anyway, I wish all of you happy holidays and prosperous 2016!

Done fully in-camera. lens is the Noct-Nikkor working its magic. Perhaps something else was involved too?

Happy Holidays to everyone!

A lot of new members joined NG the recent days (a kind of Christmas present?) - I quickly gave up posting welcomes.. so welcome to all of you!

Here in Denmark it is also far too hot for the season - I've heard that people are mowing their lawns! In my Nikon D40 archives I found this .. for now, wishful thinking. A snowman on a frozen lake..

I bet you breathed on the lower half of the lens after taking a sip of some Norwegian mountain homebrew .. the stuf that can make even toughened Danes very dizzy.

Much much simpler explanation.

Perhaps a reflection from the roof of a car or something similar? Any which way it was made resulted in an incredibly interesting photograph.

All hope might not be lost - as shown by this test shot conducted by my new 24/1.8 Nikkor at its near limit.

A very good holiday to all of you and especially all the new NG-members!   I do not have any Christmas decoration myself, but there is a lot to find in the (warm) streets ;)

Don't celebrate christmas myself, but obviously a lot of other people do so finding the seasonal motifs is easy.

(actually, this image is from a testing session with the various 24 mm Nikkors. This sample is with the AFS 24/1.8 G)
