I'm not sure how Cartier-Bresson would define it, but for me the decisive moment comes the split second between the decision and the act.

Mike and John, many thanks. The D750 is a very good camera for action. The Bee Eaters some times give an indication that they are about to launch after a flying bug , sometimes not . In this instance it gave me an indication but you never know what direction they will go ;)
