Title: Wireless Shutter release (for DF)
Post by: RobOK on December 20, 2015, 14:25:52
Any recommendations for a wireless shutter release for the Nikon Df? Only need it for basic triggering over short distances.

Thanks,
Rob

Some official alternatives:

Nikon Df Remote Shutter Release MC-DC2
Nikon Df Wireless Remote Controller WR-R10 and Transmitter WR-T10
Nikon Df Wireless Remote Controller WR-1

Thanks Bjorn - I think what I am confused about is the front port on the DF. In the past I had a D300 with a 10 pin connector but this is different.

I have a Yongnuo Flash trigger YN-622N-TX on the hot shoe, so looking for a wireless shutter trigger that does not need the hot shoe.

Also, will the Nikon ML-L3 work with the Df?

Thanks,
Rob

No, the Df do not have an IR port so the ML-L3 will not work.

You need to use devices capable of plugging into the dedicated mini-USB port on the left hand side.

Thanks, I ordered a small trigger from Yongnuo with a wire, hopefully I picked the right one.  If I get it all working, I will post back here.  Unfortunately Yongnuo does not test with a Df, so they don't tell you about compatibility for Df.

I think the USB-based releases for D80/D90 might work, but haven't tested.
