LensRentals.com started a very interesting teardown series where they take apart 4 of the latest 35mm f/1.4 lenses from Canon, Sony, Sigma and Zeiss.
Some of us are used to seeing the inside of the lenses we use, curious what they think about the construction of these lenses.
Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 MkII

Will post the link of the Zeiss here when they become available, sadly the Nikon G isn't planned to be ripped apart for comparison.

Very nice

I read the report on the Canon; Cicala was highly impressed with the design for durability.

It's cool to see there as many ways to design a lens as there are roads to Rome, and yes that Canon looks impressively well built on the inside.
Very curious how the popular and cheaper Sigma will hold up, apparently their optics are up to snuff lately but will their build quality as well?

Updated the first post with the link of the Sigma 35/1.4 Art teardown:

Not as overbuild as the Canon but a properly constructed lens, color me impressed.
