Title: A morning in Nagano, Japan
Post by: dgpno2 on November 27, 2015, 16:08:25
We had almost the full range of late autumn weather - wind, rain, fog, mist, sunshine and snow but no thunder and lightning - while spending 3 days looking at just a little of what Nagano has to offer (quite a lot).

These were among many shot on Friday morning, 27th Nov.

1) The Kiso Valley
2) Matsumotojo (castle)

Dave, glad you have enjoyed every bit of your time in Japan.  Love the bridge shot.  Yes, you experienced so many different phases of the Japanese weather and climate!

Both excellent images. I especially like the bridge shot - very evocative of the mountain regions of Honshu.

I hope that you got to visit the bookshop on the street to Matsumoto Castle - very quirky. And difficult to enter, as you can see.

Hope you don't mind me adding this image to your post.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Mike - that's a really lovely shot - somehow I missed the bookshop - dang - and I don't mind a bit if photos get added to my thread. Especially if they are of this quality.

Thanks, Dave. The penny has just dropped - isn't the bridge in your first image at Narai? Narai is an interesting place for photography.

Go to the top of the class - Narai it is (was) and I have quite a number of raw files awaiting development, all with heavy snow falling. I'm not sure I totally approve of preserved (reconstructed) villages and in summer it must be hellishly packed with tourists, but in these conditions it worked reasonably well.
