- the Nikko valley, north of Tokyo. A full inversion earlier in the day had almost completely cleared when we came down from the Senjogahara Plateau - a famous hiking area.

That's a beautiful image

It looks like a movie scene. Very nice.

wonderful landscape

great mood!

A beautiful image - classic Japanese highland scenery.
Regrettably, I haven't been to Nikko yet. Definitely on my hiking agenda

Thanks for all the kind posts, but shots like this are easy - all you have to do is be there. ;) ;D

Beautiful, but looks like tough country for hiking!
-
Nice use of layers - well done!

Yes, beatiful place! Your use of details or not, the capture of the mood, use of layers, play with size -it is difficult to have a reference and I love it-, most of the image is not sharp yet it conveys the idea of endless little parts becoming the whole... can get lost in the image. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, PeterN, PeterC, Alex and Paco.
PeterC - the hiking area, which is much higher up in the Nikko Highlands than this shot, is mostly an ancient, very flat lake-bed, so that the hiking is just about the easiest I've come across.

Thanks for the explanation!

Very nice.
