Last night the sky exploded in a very nice display of auroras. As Dave Paterson has showed us, they were visible far south. Here north of the Arctic Circle the northern lights are usually more active and moving fast in all directions, while further south they tend to be more still in the sky, but also a bit more intense in colour, especially purple.

No shortage of scenery I surmise .... Great output BJ.
-
Superb - it's hard not to be envious. This is the real aurora - congratulations.
-
Spectacular as always, thanks for bringing back some nice memories.
Have you ever combined an Aurora shot with your equally impressive drone shots?
-
really really nice!

Sigh...
I have to resign to the idea that I cannot take off whenever I want to go the very nice places other photographers show from around the world.
I have chosen my life style (hamster wheel?) and now have to stick with it, like it or not.

Very impressive. Great series, the last one with the tree I like most.
-
Breathtaking once more!
I wouldn't mind moving into the arctic circle just so that I could enjoy the Auroras...

Jakov: Think of the petrol bills ....

The reflection on the water enhances the explosion even more. As Jakov put it, it is just breathtaking! Thanks for sharing. I've never been bored with the aurora images and will never be either.

The first one looks like a butterfly fluttering its wings.

spectacular, breathtaking. Thanks for sharing. Apparently many people have a bucket list nowadays. I guess I have to make one too because I would like to see this one day.

Simply stunning shots!
