Mike - I hear those birds can be quite aggressive. But so majestic!

They are normally only aggressive when there are cygnets around and indeed we had to wait for ten minutes while a Cob & Pen got their seven babies out of our way. there was a lot of hissing, spitting and very aggressive posturing going on, the Cob just would not let us past until his cygnets were out of danger, bless him. Although they are called Mute Swans they are definitely not mute by nature

It is almost impossible to assess the number of swans queueing op for a free meal( daily at 1200 & 1600)
