Very nice set with great sense of emotion and expressions although a bit saturated and I feel the group shot is shot with a too wide focal length...

The one where she is holding a broom is classic!

I love the sense of colour that adds to the abstraction feel of any play.
And your obvious love and attachment for the involved.
And the sense of right moment.
More?

I was torn on this regarding the distortion, the distortion adds some emphasis and at the same time it is distracting.

For a high school production, I am struck by the very professional looking costumes, staging and makeup.
Enjoyable set of fotos.

This was the dress rehearsal and the drama teacher gives me free access.

The drama teacher is top notch and these are not ordinary kids. Whitney High School is one of the top, if not the top, public high school in California and in the top ten in the United States. The kids are all exceptional and they throw themselves 110% into everything they do.

Really great framed and exposed pictures... The deep black background makes it for Dorothy and Toto and the lone spotlight... :-)

I like theatre, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Excellent job. Specially 1, 4 and 5. Also the group one at the end of the previous page, the green make up sesion, Dorothy and the spot light... It does look like you got full access and freedom to move around and you used it! Exposure is spot on -manual?-, timing and framing...very good job. I, for once, like the extra something of the wide angle. It is not an usual option unless you can move as you were able to do. Thanks for sharing

Thank you Paco. I'm constantly moving ... playing with the lighting and the performers.  I am shooting in manual, spot lights and kids controlling them, don't mix well for photography.

wonderful series Gary. The circumstances can be very tricky photographically. However, you have captured an excellent rendering of colour, expression/emotion and the event as a whole. Very nice work indeed.
