Great camouflage but for the eyes... :-)

Dave is well camouflaged there, isn't he?? Sneaky kitty!

I like this foto Mike. Nice areas of sharp & blur. At first we see a kind of jumble, then suddenly there is Dave's eye and the scene clicks into place.

Glad you've enjoyed the photo, he's waiting for a careless Goldfinch to pounce on but he is also well capable of taking a pigeon.

He used to hide under my Rhubard leaves but that has all gone now  so he's taken to hiding in the weeds and I get an accusing look when he realises his hiding place has disappeared.

Dave is doing a great job of hiding!

As did his owner in capturing him.

Nice hunting shot.  He never takes his prey inside to show to his 'guardians' ?  ;)

Mike, a typical cat in stalking mode.  You might crop off the top third and either clone out the steel pole at the right of the image or crop it out as well to add even more impact.

Thank you chaps, Dave is a feral cat so belongs to nobody, and he lives outside all year round! If I try to get near him he off like a bullet, only my neighbour Julie has got to touch him and it took two years to accomplish!
We think he may have been mistreated in the past, which is a shame but he has lost his trust of people! He likes my garden because its quiet and he is not disturbed much except when I go into the garden.

John although I've seen him take birds I have no idea where he takes them! Peter this was the fifth attempt to capture him in this hunting mode, in the past ha has been far too skittish.

Hugh the pole is holding up the bird feeders plus the image has already been heavily cropped, but I understand what you say!

A tighter crop!

Mike, you must turn this into a never ending thread about Dave, the adventurous cat! Would be fun to watch.

Nice story, btw.

+1

I think you over cropped the crop. The first was interesting because it provided references to the story and the cat. The second, I think is too tight (and I typically like tight). I'd take a little off the bottom, a little off the top and a little from the left.

Point of the 1st foto, methinks, was that it looks undifferentiated until suddenly one discovers the cat's eyes and then everything snaps into place that there is a camouflaged kitty.

Waiting for the next Adventure......

Me too Andrea, but methinks it rather depends on Dave.  ;D  Plus the first one shows I need to do more weeding.  :-[
