Title: Bear's trip
Post by: elsa hoffmann on September 02, 2015, 16:58:27
Driving around with the old boy who is shouting at me for not using a lens hood  ;D ;D ;D
(only because I fell down and damaged my 24-70 ever so slightly - but hey - it can be replaced)
(says he who smashed a DF himself... haha)

Hope you and your nasty sense of humor are intact (there seems to be of no concern for the latter, though  :P).

Is it the Bear's trip or the Bear's trap?
Do show some respect (as the Bear would say) and take care of our bear :)

I am still in one piece - tomorrow morning we leave on a 5 day trip to visit the West Coast flowers - so we will be 3 together - how will I survive with 2 men.....

The Bear is doing okey - well he is still alive. So far.

I'll like to hear what the 2 men say after the trip :)

I doubt you'll have a problem at all

Thank you everyone for looking and commenting.
It is always great to drive around with someone else taking photos rather than on my own.

Nice pics of the fish ;)   Is that what you call 'Snoek'.?   We have in dutch also a name for a fish called 'Snoek' but I think that is a different fish.

Elsa, there are some cool fotos here. Me likes that caterpillar!! And the fishermen.

I am so bummed that I couldn't go on this trip 'cause of my eye thing. All better now however.
All I can do is hope for next year when I might get another chance to drop by and say 'hi' to you!!!

He actually much prefers sitting in the shade where the sun isn't burning, and do the mundane plant documentary stuff there. Elsa provides me with ample coffee support there as well.

The Wimberley Plamp is an indispensable tool for such occasions. Thus plants can be held at convenient positions for my close-up photography.

That table has a very bjørnesque feel to it.

Elsa, the last composite image is the best way to tell us how you have nothing to shoot!  :D :P :D :P

Andrea - there is a time and place for everything - maybe next year is your time :)

Bjørn's bag

Title: Re: Bear's trip
Post by: Akira on September 07, 2015, 17:29:26
Oh, I thought it was Fela Kuti's bag...

...or it reminds me of the movie "Das Boot (the boat)".

Bjørn and bananas.... On our trip through the rural parts of Arctic Norway he emptied the shops in every small town and village for those yellow things. That's what keeps him going - Duracell for the bear :)

And alcoholic beverages to clean the lenses...

That is entirely Elsa's doing. I almost never touch such stuff. And never use for lenses.

Bjørn departed from Cape Town late afternoon today.
It was marvellous to have him here - my house is empty!
I hope he arrives home safely.
