No, swan lake is definitely not my favourite. This one is. Df + 300 PF @ f/8. No filter (a pola filter could have been useful, I admit)

I've never used any PL, so I'm not sure what effect it would have on the image.
I like it as it is. The reflections on the rippled water in the background gives some perspective depth to the image, and the reflections of the light playing in the foreground gives a sort of wind chime effect to the image.

Airy, whenever I see the sparkling reflections on the water, I hear the sound of wind chime in my head. :)

I feel you could concentrate the essence of this shot by loosing some of the oof foreground on the bottom
otherwise the near monocrome meditation on the scene seemms very appealing to me.

As far as I can see on my phone outside in blazing sunlight
this second crop works very nicely adding to the
pergamentum feel of the algae (?)

I prefer this crop. I would be tempted to try cloning out what looks like driftwood behind and below the bird, as it is a bit distracting.

Ditto on the crop but would like to keep the log in the image as it makes the viewer wonder what it might be.
Is it the fish the heron is looking for, is the hunter being hunted, is it just a log, etc??

Indeed, I also wondered. The heron was a fish, as his attitude demonstrates. The algae are mostly duckweed.
