Title: Sachtler ENG 75/2 D HD

It seems that the Sachtler ENG 75/2 D HD ALU tripod can be bought for less money than a comparable Gitzo 5532S or 5542LS. It is lighter (3.1kg vs 3.9kg) but a little longer during transport (69cm vs 68cm and 61cm). So it seems a no-brainer to me, but I might be overlooking something.

For mounting the Burzynski head, do I need the Manfrotto 520BALLSH 75mm short half bowl or will a washer and bolt suffice??

I have the Manfrotto half ball, so wouldn't know exactly if the washer-bolt combination will work...

Eddie, do you realise that you are comparing one of the biggest Gitzos with one of the smallest Sachtlers?

They are completely different animals, the ENG 75 is more like a 3 series Gitzo than a 5 series.

Thanks for the help Jan Anne; my guess was that the HD version is bigger than a 3-series Gitzo. I will have to take a look at one.
