I’ve taken this picture at the entrance of a restaurant.
I just couldn’t resist. Too beautiful!
The only regret was the lack of the right equipment and of time to get a better result: those green ghosts from the bulbs are very annoying. I thought the 14-24 were enough up to the task… but it was just a hope.
I wonder if exist any wide-angle lens free of this kind of ghost for shooting interiors with difficult lighting conditions?

Marco, I am surprised that the 14-24 didn't do the trick?
And I am also surprised you got the green ghosts?
The only lens that springs to mind is the 24/1.4, although the 20/1.8 should be up to the task, too.
At what settings did you use the 14-24?

I used the following settings.
Camera: D7000
Lens: 14mm f4.0 1/30" 100ISO

I have never used the 14-24 but I am sure that there are many who can explain this phenomena 8)

Mmh, I’m thinking about stopping down but I don’t think this can make it anything better either...
Maybe a prime lens works better: this is always a zoom, even though a very good one.

Virtually all lenses would make *some* ghosts under this kind of contrast lighting. In fact I'd say the 14-24 did remarkable well, all things considered.
The new 20/1.8 might go one better, though. But no hard evidence just a hunch from my side. Normally I don't shoot indoors lamps.

I experienced the same issue still shooting interiors at 14mm, but that time it was while shooting against a large window, but no direct sun coming from the window, mostly blue sky.
Good to know the 20mm 1.8G might be a better performer.

I'll have to give the 20 a try ... but rarely visit the appropriate places for such testing ...

Beautiful lighting, indeed. But the ghost should be unavoidable. The light from the bulb is shining directly into the lens, which is fairly adverse situation. Also, the nano crystal coating is applied only one surface of the complicated optical system of 14-24.

Here is another shot from a different point of view.
Apart from the ghost issues, easily avoidable with some tricks during the shooting, I'm very happy with the image.

As you say initially, this lighting is so attractive. I understand why you wanted to make multiple versions seen from diffrent angles.
