Not so happy with the 23/1.2 (I'll resell it), I decided to buy the 35/2 and indeed it is a different animal. Not perfect, but... judge for yourself. All pics SOOC.
For one thing, it has near-zero distortion and very good overall sharpness.

Apo correction is fine. There is a wee hint of LoCA to be seen on this shot near minimal focussing distance (100% crop ; the original embraces the whole watch). On the Lightroom display the left stroke of the capital "A" is ever so slightly greenish ; on this JPEG export it seems gone. Shot at stupid f/2.

Now the only one thing that disturbed me is the overcorrected spherical aberration. If you look at the small lights, you will see "O"s suggesting a mirror lens, just smaller. Here is the full shot and a 100% crop at f/2. I got as close as possible to the crow; ten centimeters closer it would have flown away.
Also, you get an idea of the vignetting.

I'm really curious about short focal length macro lenses.
Airy, can you tell us what sort of shooting distance was involved with the shot of the watch?

Something like 5 cm from the front edge of the fully extended lens. Of course using such short FL to shoot 1:2 pics is hard to justify, but my purpose was to have a small, clean and somewhat punchy "nifty fifty" capable of close-ups.

I tried a few close-up shots (all handheld, f/5.6) = no complaint.

Here a fun one. Overall, there are no chromatic aberrations to be seen, but definitely a moiré on the Beyer headphone.

Two night shots, ad f/2 and f/2.8, ISO = 4500 and 7200, no de-noising. The LED lighting signature is only visible from f/2.8. With the big 50/1.0 on Zf, the first signs came up at f/1.3.

Some more comments:
- overall, it reminds me a bit of the massive Zeiss 50/2 MP in a much smaller and lighter package
- I love the deeply recessed front lens in both cases, which make the provided lens shade practically superfluous
- manufacturing quality, smoothness of action are typical Voigtländer / Cosina / Zeiss
- the diaph ring is at its usual place, closest to the mount, which I am more used to
- this one is a keeper
- I wish I had more time to stand and stare (and shoot)
