This is ‘only’ one company, and only one country - but I think it might be time to stock up on any memory you need, for photography or computing, ASAP.
Nintendo is already in big trouble due to this trend, and the AI demand is only going to get worse :-(

The "talk" is that due to the A.I. [bubble's] rapacious need for memory chips, all consumer flash memory cards and storage drives will be increasing in price, worldwide. I bought a couple of 400GB CFx-B cards that I hadn't immediately planned on getting, so I did my part in the panic buying binge.

Me too. Bought two Sony Tough SD cards at 1am today.

Glad I just bought a 256GB ProGrade 300/275 SD card. I wish I could by a
256GB 240GB CFEpress B.

I renewed my main PC last May when a Crucial 16GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM was sold for a bit more than 6,000 JPY. Now the same memory is sold for a little over 40,000. :o
Last November, I bought a KIOXIA 960GB SSD for about 7,500 JPY on Amazon. Now the same SSD is sold for about 20,000 JPY.
Oh, well.
