At school, I remember learning about plants & ecosystems that actually require wildfires to allow their natural cycles of growth to continue.

That was in the 1970's learning about heathlands in the UK
We still don't have a major issue with wildfires (yet) in the UK compared to so many other places around the world.

Quite true for many Australian species, whose seed pods are extremely tough indeed and it requires fire or mechanical means to liberate the seeds within.

Our summer fire season has already begun so the cycle of life starts over.


At school, I remember learning about plants & ecosystems that actually require wildfires to allow their natural cycles of growth to continue.

That was in the 1970's learning about heathlands in the UK
We still don't have a major issue with wildfires (yet) in the UK compared to so many other places around the world.
