Congratulations, Petter! Do share more of your photographs.

I did not vote for #1 because to my eyes it looked like a prompted AI shot
-
Congratulations, Petter!

Congratulations to Petter on his beautiful landscape photograph. I would love to live near such a magnificent waterfall.
And many thanks to those who voted for my heron. He is a Louisiana or Tri-colored Heron (although he actually has four colours).
These energetic birds are my favourites among the herons and you can see more photographs of them (and other herons too) at this link on my website:

Thank you so much Ann and Anthony. Long time, no see :D
Frank Fremerey: first time I have been accused for using Ai :(
This is a place I visit at least once a year.
First time was in 2010 when Sten Rasmussen and myself was leading the very first NG "Norwegian Scavenger Tour" and I fell in love with the place.
Below you can se the original and unedited picture taken in june 2015 and also a picture taken last year where you can see something has happend to the place:

Congratulations to the winner and the runners-up.

I did not accuse you, I just felt the picture looked unreal ... that is why I cast my vote for another picture.
lovely place ...
-
Congratulations Petter! Sad to see the changes in the more recent image. Perhaps we are getting so used to it that the perfection in the 2015 winning image seemed unreal?

"First time was in 2010 when Sten Rasmussen and myself was leading the very first NG "Norwegian Scavenger Tour" and I fell in love with the place."
I was one of the very fortunate ones to have gone on that trip with Petter, Sven and a few others — and I had the great honour of staying at Petter's house as well!
Rosendal was among the most beautiful places which we visited in that lovely country and I am so sorry to see that someone has recently destroyed its perfection.
-
Congratulations Petter on your win and thanks for sharing some history of the place.
I really like the picture.
-
Congratulations Petter, what a marvelous picture!
Congratulations to the runners-up as well!
-
Congratulations Petter and all the runners up selection. It looks like a magical place.

Congratulations Petter
Intersting I voted for the first 3 places :)

Is it a fault of the tablet I'm viewimg these results on?
For some reason, all of the images are truncated with the R.H. side missing....
...unless i slide it across, whereupon all the missing parts of the images slide into view
I'm not seeing these effects on any other pictures posted in other threads on Nikongear ???
(Apologies, I've not checked this on my PC)

All captured the beauty of the nature brilliantly, and in your own styles. Kudos to all! And, last but not least, congrats Petteram!
-
Congratulations Petter and to all the place getters!
-
Congratulations, Petter.
Beautiful picture, Ann.
I'm surprised most of the pictures are from nature while they are not so frequent on the site.

I do agree it's a bit odd.
If you want to analyze any more, total results in all details is to be asked for!
Personally i wonder if it's all important, doesnt change my photography whether liked or not.

Congrats to the winners, and thanks to everyone who submitted photos - it was really nice to delve into the images before voting.
-
it would be nice to know who submitted the other photos, maybe ?
This was mine

This is mine, I voted for the one with the pelicans in second place, I voted for the winner first, I liked the Norwegian landscape.
-
Colin: your issue is with mobile as NG does not function well on phones. I might have to lower the overall forum width, but that measaure brings in other issues.
Voting details should be visible now at

If not, please give me feedback and I'll find another way of showing them.

Colin: I did a "global" change of forum width and at least now, even the competition page displays properly on my Android phone.
-
Thank you for whatever you did Birna
I had another look on my tablet running Chrome, that seemed to behave exactly the same. But it's possible I need to restart Chrome which I can't do at the moment.
So I tried on my Android phone using Chrome. The photos in this thread seem to display the same as they did previously. They are truncated but if you drag them with your finger I can scroll left and right to see the whole images and rather unusually every single image in the thread also Scrolls left and right at the same time!
It's not spoiling my enjoyment and it's not an issue for me so don't worry too much about this. I was just curious :)
-
Congratulations Petter - Very nice image ! Well deserved 8)

This is mine. Somewhere on Lake Constance.

Hi Birna
So this is just curiosity, rather than something that I'm suggesting should be fixed
a) I didn't notice much change when I looked at these images again on my Android tablet after the change you mentioned in your message to me.
However the display on Android allows me to click and scroll right or left. so I can inspect all parts of the image (even if other parts fall off the edge).
b) But (finally) viewing this one thread on my Windows PC, I notice that
- The "NG 10 years" thread shows unusual behaviour in not resizing images as you change the session window size. It's very easy to only see a cropped version of the image unless your display settings and the browser window allow a very wide width
The ability to scroll left or right isn't available on Windows
- Other threads do re-size so that the whole image is always displayed, however small
See example screenshots below
1) Ann's image - only part is visible unless you expand the size of your viewing window
2 & 3) Elsewhere on NG, images resize according to the size of your viewing window, ensuring you always see the whole image
And example 1) is very much as Ann's image appeared when I first looked at this thread. I thought the bisected crop worked quite well!!

Curioser and curioser ....
The only thing coming to mind is that I assembled the competition images in a locked thread inside the Admin area, then later moved the thread + attached images into public view. Perhaps some restrictions were added to the attachments that carried over??? Since my normal user has Admin rights, I might not have experienced the
The reduced forum width setting I changed looked nice on my Android, but ugly on my PCs.
The point is noted anmd topic closed.

On my iPad, it works fine.
