Title: Hasselblad X2D Is a Great Camera
Post by: Michael Erlewine on January 27, 2025, 04:36:11
This is not a popular camera here, unfortunately for me, since I am learning to use it.

It's very different from my Nikon systems. It's not fast and it takes time, but I like what it does and the color science.

This is a photo of the Nelson Platform Bench first created in 1946. I built this as a replica.

Hasselblad, X2D, XCD 20-35mm Lens  f/3,2-4.5 Zoom.... as good as any prime.

A lovely way to pick of Birna's change to our landing page reminding visitors we like many brands Michael.
Sounds like you still feel on the on the bleeding edge of being one of the smaller numbers able to adopt this ecosystem :(

Your composition pleases my eye and I'm wistful seeing your Platform bench,  having spent three days of very amateur woodworking to make a simple storage unit for my teaware.

I'm rather attracted to the beautiful echo of the color and the geometry between the neighbor’s wall with the chimney and your carpet.   :)   Pleasing picture.

The green house is our dharma center, the Heart Center Karma Thegsum Chöling, originally with 8 bedrooms, but some of them have been taken over.

Here is one to scare the hell of us, one of 15,000 images I have prompted from Midjourney AI. I'm getting pretty good at it too.

This is not a popular camera here,
Because of the high price?
The camera would be too expensive for me, I see a nice toy for men, but for me brands, cameras and lenses a no so important.

I can tell if the image looks good and images looks very good from the Hasselblad. But given the resolution that is possible to display in this forum I doubt that a similar nice picture could not have been displayed shot with an e.g. Z9 with an appropriate lens (50/1.2, 85/1.2, 20/1.8 or another fast expensive lens).

Congratulations, Michael, I love the photo, it is realistic but dreamlike. It reminds me of Zurbalán's still lifes.

Michael, I agree with MEPER and I also have the same reservations with my own images I post on NG taken with my Z7. In the autumn I purchased a Dell 4K RGB calibrated monitor and I think my images looks fantastic at 3840 (long edge) - my D40 images are also great at full size at its max 3000 wide. It would be interesting to watch your images in a higher resolution.
