Clever people,
It seems I've worn down the USB cable that came with my Nikon D3. I've read the manual to find out which USB type connector is used (the camera's port). USB is mentioned around 60 times, but not the type.
It seems some kind of non-standard when I check charts showing different connector types.
Any good ideas on how to get a correct one, preferably a cheap standard one.
Thanks in advance,
Kasper

Thank you for the swift reply :) Is this a proprietary standard meaning only Nikon cables will work? Or is there a standard equivalent?

This link might help: https://www.nikonimgsupport.com/na/NSG_article?articleNo=000066550&configured=1&lang=en_SG
In it they are saying that an UC-E4 cable is required.
The UC-E4 is used by these series of cameras:
D100, D200, D300, D300s, D700, D2-Series, D3-series; and
D40, D40X, D50, D60, D70/D70s, D80, D90, D3000, D3100, D7000.
In looking at my D700, the plug that goes into the camera is a standard Mini-USB B, with a regular sized USB-A plug on the other end.
Such cables are still easily sourced from computer shops as well as the official Nikon UC-E4.

Thanks, Hugh - this was the exact kind of info (and confirmation that a standard cable will work) I was after :)
