Title: Speed problems anyone?
Post by: Jürgen Pfeiffer on October 04, 2024, 09:07:52
Lately it sometimes takes minutes to build a page on my computers. Completely loading Photos is very slow. Tried another browser with the same results. I'm on a Mac with OS Sequoia.
Has anyone also problems with loading speed on NikonGear?

Jürgen

After the move to a hosting site with SSD/NvMe disks, the site in general has been very responsive. Thus I would look for issues in local or regional internet traffic. Our provider hasn't logged any server issues.

Whether I access NG from Windows 7/10/11 or various Linux distros, our pages load very fast.

Mac/Sequoia here. No issue. Travel diaries pages are loaded within a fraction of a second. I have not done any benchmark at any time but I think the site is as responsive as ever, and probably best ever.
Added info : I use Firefox (latest release). Browsing speed has been consistently fast today, as it was most of the time.

I have sometimes similar problems, probably traffic related:

I cleared History in Safari browser. Now the pages are loading fast/pictures showing instantly.

But – strange – on my other Mac, speed is now also better than yesterday evening. On this mac I didn't clear History. Mmmmhh?

I don't think clearing of History changed anything. It's sometimes fast, sometimes extremely slow.

In general, the pages loads fairly fast.  But I briefly experienced the slowdown a couple of days ago.  I'm on Win 11.

No problems specific to the NG site that I have experienced.

On the other hand, my Telco's performance is generally quite woeful, and the quality of their customer service likewise.
