Very nice, Fons! I'm considering getting that lens and apart from macro I also want to use it for landscapes - seems to be a very fine lens for that purpose.
-
Lars, indeed its a really fine landscaper, as a macro its far more tricky to use in my experience!

Many thanks Fons - I tried the lens 3 weeks ago and there wasn't many macro keepers - especially AF in low light, but in general it's probably also better to use MF for macro.

Macro is manual focus.

Sorry to say, but I'm rather concerned about the apparently quite damaged smartphone in the background. :o :o :o

Love the castles!
Thank you Armando.
many castles in france, many in ruins.
The ones i show here are from the early 12 hundreds from the Cathars.
The Albigensian Crusade, when the pope and the king of france teamed together
with the aid of zealous mercenaries to eradicate the heretics, killing many thousands.
and grab the land and its riches.
All in the name of religion.

Fons, seems you travel with many lenses, great travel log

Armando since i travel by car and caravan i take a few bags, a think tank airport essential and retrospective 10 and 20, a tripod and a bag for some gear for possible maintenance. My Zf not a back-up camera this time, my z lenses 20, 24, 35 , 50, 85, 105 and f mount 300mm f/4 and voigtländer 180 f/4 etc, etc. Last but not least, the Z 40mm f/2 a handy little lens!

I admire your determination as well as your photos, Fons.
My wife and I used to travel by caravan (we call them travel trailers here in the US). We started out using tents and progressed through fold down (AKA "pop up") trailers, standard trailers and large "fifth wheel" models (the big heavy ones). Then my back deteriorated to the point it put an end to that. But I carried a ton of gear on our trips, from 35mm SLRs and Leicas to 4x5 field cameras with changing bag and multiple film holders and tripod. As time went by, I just went with two DX or 4/3 bodies and a couple of zooms...even once with just a Canon G10 compact.
