i have been looking for a replacement filter for my 300mm AF Nikkor lens. The one that came came with it, in the drop in filter holder, (I purchased the lens second hand), had same nasty cleaning marks. I found a L37 filter in excellent condition and so I purchased it... only to realize that it was a L37, not a L37c filter. I am i worrying about nothing? Or should I continue my search for a L37c 39mm filter?
thanks in advance!

The L37c is multicoated whereas the L37 is only single-coated. The L37c is therefore less likely to cause trouble with flare. I have not used either and so cannot say how much difference you will see.
A more recent possibility is the NC filter. (NC stands for Neutral Colour.)

The filter is in the rear part of the lens, thus sits behind an array of multicoated elements. I wouldn't expect L37 or 37C to do much of a difference if at all.

That's what i was thinking... and hoping for as the one I found is perfect! (no marks on the filter).
thanks for the fast reply!
