Excellent, as always.
This was my most used lens for dance shows for a long time and I have many great memories with it. I bought it second hand in 2013 for around 600 euros. I still think it is an amazing lens today. Great for infrared as well, go figure.

On My sample the A/MF ring broke twice ???

Yes a typical fault for these, also seen on lenses with similar design for instance 20-35mm AF-D f/2.8 and 105 and 135mm f/2
The later lenses did not have this issue, a silent revision of the ring was most likely introduced with a better material or fiber reinforcement, they seem to have a different shine to them. This is unconfirmed, but I never had a lens with this issue,,,  :o
