A trip to Gjøvik, Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand.
pictures will added as we travel.
-
Gjøvik is wet - wet -we, as expected when the largest inland lake of the country is its nearest neighbour, and we experienced a bad storm event ('Hans').
You managed to avoid the usual panorama vantage point of Bergen -- cool. Must admit being lazy myself, I just shoot from Fløyen as there is usually so much fog or rain one hardly sees the cityscape any way :)
Kristiansand hopefully is sunnier and drier? Although with the currently encountered unstable weather, anything might happen.
-
Thank you for sharing it. I'll follow with interest. Enjoy!
-
Birne and Paco thanks for the nice words.
The panorama is taken from Fløien, but maybe just slightly of the normal spot.
Bergen have today shown is real face, rain, rain, we visited the Akvarium instead, indoor mostly.
-
Not the usual sunny travel pictures ;) Which is nice for a change - Have a nice trip!

Old fashioned summer rain and cool 8)

We are now in Stavanger, the driving time from Bergen was short, as we had two ferry passes ;)
It is a very lively city, with many colourful houses.
We had a cup of coffee and lovely cakes with it.

Nice name for that place -- literally, "Books and Booze" :)

Tuesday in Stavanger
Had to go back to "Bøker & Børst" the cakes were so good, and then they also made tapas the Stavanger style.
As we had been visiting the Norwegian Canning Museum (Norsk Hermetikkmuseum) showing the history of the Norwegian sardin (European Sprat, Sprattus sprattus) this was a must to taste.
The seagulls are so used to people that a 35mm is all you need ;)
-
Bent is trying the work done at the canning factory, it is done with rubber sardines ;)
This type of work was common in Stavanger, now the oil has taken over.

It look like he is doing pretty good! :)
Bent, that seagull with such low vantage point looks cool and regal

Now back in Gjøvik I found some more from the trip to the west coast.
First picture is showing the outdoor cafe life in Bergen.
Next is from the Oilmuseum in Stavanger, a bit of at pipeline converted to a playground.
Just outside Stavanger is this monoment erected. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sverd_i_fjell
In Gjøvik they are having a big running competition, it is with obstacles, water and the things on the route.
The sun has been shining for the last 2 days!

Whenever I visit my cousin, I must take a picture of the old steamer sailing past his house.

Good old 'Skibladner' is still plying the waves of Lake Mjøsa :)
The 'Swords in stone' was set up as the 1111 year memorial of the unification of Norway. Photographers love it, yours truly inclusive.
