Title: Voigtlander 35mm/2 Apo-Lanthar for Nikon Z
Post by: pluton on July 26, 2023, 07:03:29
I recently acquired a slightly used copy of the Voigtlander 35mm f/2 Apo Lanthar for the Nikon Z mount. Mainly, I wanted a small lens suitable for scale focusing using small stops like f/11 and f/16 in bright light.  I discovered that this lens has exceptional performance right from wide open. Extra added bonus:  The distance markings on the barrel are actually accurate. Down notes: A clear filter on the front of the lens will generate mirrored ghost reflections from point light sources, and the OOF bokeh balls will often show the trademark onion skin effect that aspherical lenses do.
First, a few of my uncropped scale-focused Z7II  Z6II test shots---all at f/11--- at the local beach in Santa Monica, California.
Next post: wide open at night.

Some dusk and night shots, all wide open on the Z6II.  Uncropped.

Thanks for these examples, Keith.  Like most AP-Lanthars, it seems to be an excellent performer.

Thanks for sharing Keith!

To notice a distinctive fingerprint of the Voigtländer lenses!
