Fons, thanks for starting this thread
I have plenty of street shots, but will not do a massive dump :)
I also have to travel to the city, around my home there is few people, shops or anything else other than houses

Thank you Armando for contributing.
'Street has man in focus in his street', not necessarily in a city. Should it be black and white?
Cameras shoot colour ;)
-
Thank you for giving me more options for creativity & chances to see better as I walk around.
As with some of the ones above, this was open right onto a street, maybe partially inside a building.
It was enjoyable to soak up the atmosphere :P

Yes, the buckwheat noodle is my favorite among all Japanese noodles!
The lighting inside and outside the cafe indicates that there are people. ;)

"Though people usually feature directly, street photography might be absent of people and can be of an object or environment where the image projects a decidedly human character in facsimile or aesthetic."

Great image Hans - but a very old one judging by the uniforms. Do you recall when it was taken?
Thank you Hugh. These were taken on the 30th March 1980 in North Fitzroy. It's not the uniforms that date these shots, it's the 1970's porn-star moustaches sported by many of the police ;D
After photographing some of these events I developed an admiration for the professionals who could keep (manual) focus on erratically moving subject whilst walking backwards!

I wonder if the professional photographers of the day were using zone focussing and small lens apertures?
I'm sure they did, especially when holding the camera above their heads. A faster film than the FP-4 that I was using would have been helpful in this regard, my hit rate was appalling!
I never thought of the police in this light - you have stirred up my vivid imaginationt! LOL

I'm only occasionally doing street photography because I generally don't like to photograph and post images with people without their accept (I wouldn't like it myself..), but there are exceptions. This one because I really like the situation, the mood - or humor - and the expression of the people I've captured. Taken almost 8 years ago with my "stealth camera" Fuji X-E1 on a nice (typical Danish semi-sunny) day in July.
