Needless to say, there is no strict law stating you have to use the same lens for all the partial images ...

Not even the same camera. I have seen multiangles from different photographers with different cameras at different times of the year. Very fascinating the work of my dear friend Willem van den Hoed who pioneered the field and is now represented by several galleries on several Continents: http://www.willemvandenhoed.nl/

Well, then you have to combine separate images later (digital domain assumed). Of course entirely legit, but not what we normally designate multi-exposure as this is done in-camera.

A pre-visualized image can even be taken without the photographer present. That is what Willem did and what he taught me. "Engineering Art" was a mixture of swear word and praise he found for me when we did this:

Interesting.  I saw the interview on  his website (http://wvdhoed.home.xs4all.nl/W2/W2_cv.html) about mainly this image of a hotelroom in Paris. (Hotel Mayet)

(https://nikongear.net/revival/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwvdhoed.home.xs4all.nl%2FW2%2FIMAGES%2F980%2F62_980.jpg&hash=b0412b07d02a63dadf77d68dc14e41a3943a2ced)was discussed.

Basically taking hunderds/thousands of images with a telelens (Nikon by the way) during different times of the day and later stitching them together (in a natural way) to create the image he imagined before. He even creates 'reflections' in glass, and snowy sceneries.

It's an art-form were photography is a tool to create a painting.

Thank you, Erik.

Basicly the same technique I applied in the "Ten Scotish castle" series. With people timing is important to have the 90 deg and straight on posistion in the same frame without too much body or head repositioning. A bit of "wasting film" sure helps *ggg*

Multi exposure might be a nice way to render a scene and create separation between objects.
