Title: Golden morning
Post by: Eric Borgström on August 10, 2015, 13:19:04
Perhaps the most touristic part of Stockholm at an hour most tourists sleep

Just let them sleep. That way you have the scenery to yourself :D

Perhaps tighten the framing a bit to reduce the amount of empty foreground?

What a precise division of sunlight on the buildings and shadows  on the water

Living in the Nordic countries means the sun elevation always is quite low. So you have these wonderful summer mornings with soft light and grazing sun rays.

The photographer's timing here is impeccable indeed.

Bjørn, Armando and Jakov, thank you for kind remarks.
I dislike getting up early but usually am rewarded with beautiful light. And as the sun just rises the sea birds keep coming making the composition livelier.

What a very pleasant way to be greeted by the new day. A cup of coffee, the morning paper and a piece of Stockholm in golden light. Nice.

The morning paper might not have hit the streets at this time. My guess this is between 4 and 5 in the morning. The sun has obviously been up for a while.

Gary and Bjørn!
The morning paper was delivered at our home when I left for downtown a little after four. No time gor coffe :-[ . Today the sun did rise at 4:52 and the shown picture was one of my last for the morning. On the original you can read the time on S:t Gertrud. Her bell had just tolled for 5:30. Time to return home for download, coffe and paper reading in the sun.
