Title: Be careful, you won't be able to remove your lens from some adapters

Hi all,

I bought a brand new adapter from Gobe for adapting Contax/Yashica to Nikon Z. After mounting Yashica 135mm to the adapter, I could not detach it. It took me a few weeks with some tricks and tools to do so. I reported to Gobe and they refunded for the adapter and sent me an additional gift card to reward my struggles. In return, I sent them a video and a lot of pictures describing the issue and how I fixed it.

Using different adapters intensively for the last one year, I had different kind of issues with them. For instance, one of my Metabones locking lever is producing metal powder. Some other had oil or debris hidden inside out of the box. I needed to fix/enhance most of them to feel safe using them.

Just wanted you guys to be aware, you may have better luck with adapters.

I have been happy with K&F adapters so far. Good quality and cheap. A step-up from Pixco in my opinion.
The highest quality adapter I have experienced is a YEENON adapter (Voigtländer Prominent - L39). Here you also pay for the quality.

Using adapters that adapts Leica-M lenses it is important not to turn the lens further than the click-stop.
This sounds obvious but travel is very short with M-lenses. I did that mistake and then the lens was stuck for a while.

I've encountered an quality control issue with a Metabones Nikon F to Sony E mount adapter.  A screw to fix the mount on the camera side was screwed obliquely and scratched the mount of my camera body.  In addition, the F-mount side of the same adapter was so tight that I refrained from attach the lens completely.  I returned it for a full refund.

I've also had a bad experience with the Fotodiox m4/3 to Sony E mount adapter whose burr was not smoothed at all.  I refrained even from trying to attach it either on the lens or the body.

The only manufacturers whose QC I trust are Japanese Rayqual and German Novoflex.  Yes, they are expensive but reliable.  Whenever I purchase adapters of any other manufacturers, I try to examine it thoroughly for the remaining burr and the tightness of the mount.

The K&F adapters I got are nice and fit well.

I just compared a M42 - Z Pixco to a K&F adapter.
The K&F is more solid built and has real anti-reflective paint. Pixco is shinny inside.
