Perhaps the UV-nikkor 105 mm f/4.5 would be better for that purpose, Øivind?

UV-Nikkor 105 and Df.
That fresh looking image certainly looks like it comes from a habitable planet. Mind you though that astro imaging stacks like the one I presented above involves extreme stretching to bring out the dark parts. That ghost was not visible in the unprocessed individual frames. Might have come from a light pollution source. The purple fringing is another matter though that many lenses have in common, but presumably not the UV nikkor, nor the 300 PF.

Edit: On second thought is there could have been some slight buildup of tiny ice crystals on the front element (no filter used) that has created the ghost.

The elusive 105mm f/4 Nikkor-T is not often seen these days and was a rarity in its time as well. I use it mainly for IR at present.

First is the lens mounted on my Nikon D5300 IR camera. It is really tiny.

Echo of the past, brought back by the UV-Nikkor 105mm f/4.5. (UV capture)
